Secure touchscreen and clear signing

The larger E Ink touchscreen is the most consequential change from Nano S Plus and Nano X. A trusted display can reduce errors only when the device shows the destination, amount, network, and fee in a form the user actually checks.

Ledger’s Clear Signing and Transaction Check features aim to translate supported smart-contract actions into readable information. For Bitcoin, the essential habit remains the same: verify the receiving or destination address, amount, fee, and change behavior on the signer rather than relying only on the phone or computer.

Bluetooth and NFC

Ledger documents Bluetooth smartphone connectivity and NFC support. Wireless transport should not expose private keys by design, but it adds protocol, pairing, and application code that wired-only users may not need.

Choose wireless use for a specific workflow, not because it is enabled by default. Keep the device and Ledger Wallet current, pair in a controlled environment, and reject unexpected connection or signing requests.

Understand each recovery option before activation

  • Recovery phrase: The conventional offline backup remains direct spending authority and should never be entered into a website or ordinary app.
